DESCRIPTION:
Microsoft PowerPoint is a tool for
creating and designing slides. Students will learn techniques of inserting ClipArt into
their presentation and choosing layouts and templates according to the type
of information
they are presenting. While creating a slide show, the students will modify slides, create graphs, delete and insert slides, rearrange slides, hide slides, apply transitions and
fade-in attributes to each slide, and learn how to record time spend/slide while
practicing a presentation.
OBJECTIVES:
Learn to execute the following
features in PowerPoint:

Produce
and deliver on-screen presentations that include color, clipart, sound,
animation and video clips.

Creating Slides:
Use Wizards,
Templates, and Layouts.

Entering, inserting, editing and formatting text.

Entering text in outline view.
-
Making changes
-
Creating and editing graphics on slides.

Insert ClipArt, WordArt and Objects
-
Adding images and charts.
-
Create, modify, format, and apply transitions to a slide show.

Download from the Internet JPEG or GIF files, convert to a PICT> file and
insert into a slide.

Adding
motion and sound.

Tips for improving the content of your slides.

PowerPoint is also able to produce notes pages with one slide per page.
These can be used by speakers, teachers, or students to write their
presentation or by delegates to record their own notes. PowerPoint is
able to produce presentation outlines containing as much or as little
information as required. These can be used by the presenter as a guide
sheet
AUDIENCE:
The class is designed for users who
are proficient using a mouse and are familiar with the fundamentals of using the Macintosh
Computer or the fundamentals of PC Windows 95 or 98. Students must have the software
PowerPoint, have connection to an Internet Service Provider and be familiar with using
E-mail.
TEXT
You do not need a manual for this class. I will
send your assignments weekly (every Monday) and they are due by the next
week. If you are not able to send an assignment on time, do not worry.
Just write me and we will work things out.
EVALUATION:
The evaluation will be based on
student participation via Internet/email, weekly assignments, student participation plus
finished slide show presentation.
