CLASS DESCRIPTION:

This class gives the learner a basic/beginning understanding of Adobe PhotoShop Elements . Topics include an introduction to Photoshop and image properties. A Working with Color, Layers, and Photographs section teaches about the color selection tools and how to adjust color. Other topics included teach about image manipulation and automation. 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Become familiar with the Photoshop Elements  toolbar and how to use some most commonly-needed tools
     

  • Learn to correct a scanned image by
    ….
    adjusting the brightness and contrast
    ….repairing a scratch on the image
    ….removing an object in the image
    ….resizing the image
    ….sharpening the focus of the image
     

  • Learn to alter a scanned image by
    ….
    changing the color of an object
    ….altering the background
    ….adding text to the image
     

  • Working with layers
     

  • Printing


MANUAL:

You do not need a manual for this class.  I will send your assignments weekly (every Monday)  and they are due by the next week.  If you are not able to send an assignment on time, do not worry.  Just write me and we will work things out. 

AUDIENCE:

The class is designed for users who are proficient using a mouse and are familiar with the fundamentals of using the Macintosh Computer or the fundamentals of PC Windows. Students must have the software MS Excel have connection to an Internet Service Provider and be familiar with using E-mail.

EVALUATION:

 The evaluation will be based on student participation via Internet/email, student participation and successfully completing  skillbuilders  assigned with each lesson.  The course utilizes a mastery learning approach.  Ongoing individualized assistance will be available through online messaging and/or voice phone conferencing.
